Powered roller conveyors are commonly used in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and package handling applications. These conveyors require less manual effort to move loads than unpowered (gravity-flow) roller conveyors. They operate with even spacing at a controlled speed and can handle items with uneven or rimmed bottoms such as drums, pails, pallets, skids, and bags. Each section of the conveyor includes rollers mounted on a frame of axles driven by a shaft, chain, or belt. The conveyor's roller spacing density determines the size of the items that can be conveyed. Every item on the conveyor should be supported by a minimum of three rollers at all times.
